For Total Gym-style incline trainers
Total Gym Progression App
SLED gives incline trainer users a simple progression system: show up, do the reps, level up. There's no workout to plan and no math to do — SLED decides when you're ready to add a rep, and when you're ready to raise your incline level.
What is a Total Gym progression app?
Way of SLED is a progression app, not a workout-of-the-day generator. It's built around one repeatable idea: do a little more than last time, until you're ready to make it harder, then repeat. That's the entire system.
Who is this for?
This is for incline trainer owners who don't want to think about programming — people who've tried "just wing it" and found that without a plan, workouts get inconsistent or stop altogether. It's also for anyone who's used a written progression chart before and found it tedious to keep updating by hand.
Why don't normal workout apps fit incline trainer progression?
Most fitness apps assume you'll either follow a fixed multi-week program or pick your own exercises and weights each session. Neither maps well to an incline trainer. There's no weight stack to add plates to, and a rigid multi-week program doesn't adapt to how fast or slow any one person actually progresses. Incline trainer progression is really about two variables — reps and incline level — and most apps aren't built around tracking just those two things well.
How does the progression system work?
SLED alternates between two workouts, A and B, so every major muscle group gets trained without you deciding what to do each day. Here's the mechanic:
- Complete a workout. SLED automatically adds one rep for next time.
- Keep showing up. Reps climb gradually, workout by workout.
- Reach 20 reps on a movement, and SLED tells you it's time to increase your incline level and start climbing again from there.
You never have to decide if you're "ready" — the number tells you. That's the whole point: removing the decision, not removing the effort.

Frequently asked questions
Does Way of SLED create random workouts?
No. It uses a simple A/B progression system — two fixed full-body workouts that alternate, with reps increasing automatically, rather than generating new or random routines.
How does the progression system work?
Complete a workout and SLED adds a rep the next time you do it. Reach 20 reps and SLED tells you it's time to raise your incline level and start again from there.
Is Way of SLED an official Total Gym app?
No. Way of SLED is an independent app for Total Gym-style incline trainers and similar glideboard machines. It is not made by, endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Total Gym.
Why not use a regular workout tracker?
Most trackers are built around weights or general gym routines and leave the planning to you. Incline trainers progress on reps and incline level, not added weight, so a generic tracker doesn't do the planning work SLED does automatically.
Is this safe for beginners or people recovering from injury?
Consult a doctor or physical therapist before starting any new exercise program, especially if recovering from surgery, managing pain, or dealing with joint or back issues.
